Hostess Gift Suggestions, Please

But that’s the thing…more often than not, the hostess (let’s use me as an example) is not going to ask you to bring anything much. When I’m entertaining guests for 2 - 3 days and making different meals…a perishable is VERY MUCH appreciated. And yes…serve everything. This is just not one meal we are talking about!

^Ok, I am not a lake house owner, so you are certainly more qualified to answer than I. I will defer to your opinion. Lake house owners should let their needs be known. I know guests appreciate being able to help out in a meaningful way.

My guess is that if you are being invited to someone’s vacation home for a weekend or longer, you probably know them a little and know whether they are a foodie or the super clean living type or somewhere in between. Even for health nuts, there are healthy dishes to make like a quinoa salad or a big bowl of fruit salad. Better yet, you can let your hosts know that you plan to be in charge of a certain meal whether its buying groceries and making the meal, bringing the meal, or taking everyone out to eat. Items like baked goods can easily be frozen as well. But yes, entertaining others is definitely expensive!
