I stayed at The Kimberly with my sisters. The location was great. The best though was that we had a bedroom and living room with a sofa bed. Also a small kitchen.

If you are flying across the country from California, and arriving at JFK in the evening, why not just call it a day and go to sleep at the closest hotel to your gate? You can head out the next morning after a good night’s sleep, all ready to enjoy the amazing scenery you will see along the highways through New Jersey (OK, NJ does have pretty parts, but you will not in reality be seeing them unless you go off the highways).

Actually, I could never be that close to NYC without heading right in - immediately - and hitting the town just a little bit as soon as I arrived (I would sleep in there at The London). Being from somewhere else, even the travel weary will get a second wind when seeing all the buildings lit up at night.

Oh, no, don’t do that (unless you’re visiting Princeton and using that as a way-stop). Either stay in NYC or go to Philly. There’s no point having a way-stop between those destinations.

1 reason would be that hotels are cheaper in Jersey vs NYC or Philly and they don’t charge for parking in the 'burbs! (also, most of the hotels by JFK are dumps!)
