When I fly, I check in online. There is no difference in check in online when you fly first class vs coach.
I have had the best check in experiences in small, locally owned hotels. Really excellent customer service at the desks. The chains can be spotty…even if you are in the fancy schmancy suites.
I like a nice hotel, however, if I’m paying, it is rare that I would pay a significant amount extra for an upscale hotel. Maybe if it was some unbelievable exotic resort, but otherwise, we really don’t spend much time at the hotel. I also will not pay much extra for a view, because even though for those first 30 seconds when you walk into the room, you say, “Wow, look at that view”, that’s about the most we’ll look at.
First class, if it isn’t crazy expensive, is worth some extra money. Especially on overseas flights, what a difference. But I’m still cheap and get free upgrades, though if I had to, I’d spring for it. Not for a $9K flight, though. Every now and then I sit in coach (not in an exit row nor a comfort seat), but pure coach, and ugh…so uncomfortable and unpleasant. Terrible, I feel for people! Claustrophobic, cramped, yuck. It’s not bad with the exit row though.
I like luxury condos - rented hotel style. Daily cleaning and zero pestering.
