I didn’t see the things that were in motion graphics because I didn’t look in that section. This is because I’m not as interested in those areas (also I didn’t feel like going through the whole site, it would have taken too long.)

I like painting and drawing. SCAD might have the best motion graphics students in the country, but I wouldn’t care, because that’s not the area I’m into. I looked at painting, drawing, and illustration by the students from most of the major art schools back before I applied to any, and I decided that RISD and MICAs students produced the best. Maybe we’re talking about different things. Maybe SCAD is known for motion graphics, but I have no idea about that…

Since when was your point the same as my point? No one before had said anything about arbitrarily judging the work for yourself. You’re accusing me of reading the posts and managing to pass up my own point, perhaps out of stupidity. That’s insulting.

I do trust my opinion more than the professionals’. Call it hubris if you want, but I know my own preferences better than I’ll ever know theirs. (I don’t need to look into them… I don’t think I’ll have issues getting hired if I’m not familliar with these judges. I’m sure to get plenty of contacts while at school, anyway.) If I was impressed by paintings at a school that wasnt known for painting, (not SCAD in particular - any school) Id probably have bad taste. It just seems to work out that the schools with the best reputations really are the best. When the most talented students decide to go to a school with a good reputation, they perpetuate the good reputation with quality work.

Also, please, (because I cant force myself to be cordial any more)

do not talk down to me. Do not speak as if you are more intelligent than I am or superior in any way. You have never met me. Cant you have a debate without sneering at the people who disagree with you? Half of your arguments are designed to prove that the other people are too stupid to be dealing with you. Cool off, its just a discussion.

//Since when was your point the same as my point?//

Your point was that that you would rather judge the work for yourself. I directed someone to the CMYK site where they could look at and evaluate student work themselves. As I said to him/her, it’s worth checking out to see additional student work.

There ya go!

//do not talk down to me.//

If that’s your perception of yourself, I can’t control that. A discussion? Excuse me but I copy/pasted an article here and then was accused of being a druggie and or a liar.

//I didn’t see the things that were in motion graphics because I didn’t look in that section.//

Now I will talk down to you…try to follow along. You didn’t see any motion graphics projects because Adobe and CMYK are two different entities. There was no section! Sheesh.

If you are interested in painting or drawing, you might also want to consider SAIC (School of Art Institute in Chicago). Check out their work too. They are known for being a school for pure fine arts such as painting.

Weile - Being around other good students is great, but it will not make you who you are. Google some artists whose work you admire and check out where they went to school. I think you will be surprised. It’s all about the work, talent, goal, drive. I know you know that, though.

Yeah, I did look into them… I live about 30 min away, actually. (I’ve heard that their graduate painting program is really excellent.) But I can’t do anything else now because I’m leaving for risd in a week and a half :]

Er… wow. You sound like a mean and angry little kid. Frankly I’m surprised that you graduated ‘eons’ ago, because I would have expected more maturity.

I don’t care if someone else in the topic accused you of being a drug addict (which they didn’t… it’s a stupid figure of speech) - the fact is, I was not rude to you.

There is no way I could convince you of this, but you are throwing muck over everything you say, no matter how logical, because you are so mean and condescending about it.

I wish I could tell you this in person or force you to understand, but you are one of the nastiest people I have ever talked to.

Dont try to deny that you were talking down before. It has nothing to do with me or my perception of myself. You think you’re terribly smart. Hah, maybe you are… but it doesn’t matter much if you’re mean.

Don’t bother with your quoted lines and snippy comments because I’m too sick of you to read this thread again.

Weile, I guess some topics spur a lot of strong emotions. RainingAgain seems to take offense at any perceived attack of SCAD.Lets just agree that SCAD could be a good school and can produce some good work among some students, and end it at that.
