House Wine?

Ironically, NorthMinnesota, I just picked up a bottle of 2012 Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc today as a birthday gift for a friend. Was on sale. What’s a good price?

I can’t even imagine that combination. Why???

Maybe it goes well with donuts, Bromfield?

jym…we bought cases(and cases) of the Kim Crawford for D1’s wedding last summer. We still have some! We paid $10.60 a bottle I believe at Costco. It is $17 in our local liquer store.

Ah… I wasn’t at Costco today, but paid $11.99 for one bottle which claimed to be originally about $20. Thats not too bad, I guess.

Good deal! :)

We like Redwood Creek pinot noir and merlot. $5.99/bottle or less when we buy 6

DW buys wine based on how pretty the picture on the label is.

So you never know what you will get (other than red or white), but at least the bottle will be pretty. :)

OK, maybe not quite, but there is some truth there.

Ironic, notrichenough- when I bought the Kim Crawford today (thanks for reassuring me about the price, NM), I was looking at a bottle called “Starry Night Wine” and admiring the label :)

"Quote:
Bud lite with a bit of pomegranate juice

I can’t even imagine that combination. Why??? "
-Why not? Many tried in my house and loved it. Some are regular beer drinker, others became regular after trying. It just taste very good. You do not have to try if you do not want.

Beer and lemonade is popular enough that the drink has a name - the shandy.

People put limes in Corona, and Anheiser-Busch sells a lime-flavored version of Bud Lite.

So why not pomegranate?

Beeritas are also very popular now. Beer, frozen lime juice concentrate and tequila. Surprisingly refreshing.

You show up at my house unannounced, and you’ll get whatever we’re drinking that night, which is usually an Oregon Pinot Noir. We went to three wineries yesterday (weekend excursion). I loved this wine: http://www.depontecellars.com/pdf/wines/2010_melon_info_sheet.pdf</a> (which is NOT a pinot noir)

but it wasn’t that cheap. Still, I’m planning a whole meal around it. Starting with filet of sole cooked in butter and wine. Trying to work out the vegetables now.

Guess I’m a purist when it comes to beer–don’t want anything in it–no lime, lemonade, pomegranate, etc. I try to limit beer because of the carbs, but there are times when a beer really hits the spot for me. I like Amstel Light, Stella, or Blue Moon.

Mixed or not, my favorite is Bud Light. I used to like heavier beers, now I am looking for less taste. I would prefer beer to many wines. Cannot drink anything dry, but I do not mind the gift at all. Just add honey and we are all set.

On the class of 2013/2017 we are all sharing drinks as we are dealing with the senior year stuff. The Bud Lite Lime-a-Ritas are becoming very popular. I have to try the beer/pomegranate juice one too. I don’t really like beer but the Lime-A-Ritas are very good-basically a margarita flavored beer.

What pomegranate juice do you use with the beer?

Thanks! (Sorry, I had to look up what Kunde is.)

I have to assume that many of the scenes were filmed at some winery in Napa.

"I have to try the beer/pomegranate juice one too. " - Make sure to go very easy on juice. Add a bit and try, find your own combination. It takes very little to change the color to awesome and taste to heavenly. The goal is to keep the bubbles.

Interesting. I like pomegranate, though black currant juice is my favorite. Will give it a try.

I would love to buy black currant juice. Where did you find it? Is it expansive?
