i just got assigned to a double in a 13 people loft in palladium. has anyone ever lived there who would like to share his/her experience?

I am sorry for the lame question, but how do we actually pay for our housing and meal plan? When I log on to Albert I can’t seem to find any bill for it, it only has a general one with tuition, health ins.,etc. fees, but not housing and meal plan fees.

Have you logged into the Bursar’s e-bill page? It has a breakdown of all your costs and fees, including Housing and Meal Plan. Additionally, there are columns for debits and credits to your account. This is the link to login (either by student or the parent once the student has invited the parent to set up login info).

[NYU > Office of the Bursar > E-Billing Information > Login to E-bill](<a href=“Bills, Payments, and Refunds”>Bills, Payments, and Refunds)

Your Bursar’s E-bill should have the information you said you are missing. If it is not there, I would call the Bursar office ASAP. Wasn’t there a deadline for payment in August? Did you make special arrangements for paying late? Or is it different for international students?

evolving,
I recall you helping me out a while ago, thank you again! Yes, I am not subject to regular deadline policy. So, I logged into my e-bill, but the amount due seems to be completely random, it doesn’t coincide neither with housing costs nor with meal plan costs, together or in separate. I guess I’ll have to swing by Bursar office anyway.

How do I get out of NYUhousing?

Olzhas, Hi, Again!

Sorry to read that you are not settled with the NYU Housing. The following is a link to NYU Housing cancellations. It seems they are rather strict once you miss the July 2010 deadline for canceling Fall 2010 housing. However, it may be that you can cancel for Spring 2011 by January 2011, unless you are obligated to the entire academic year per the “housing license” (not sure based on the language).

They have certain conditions under which housing is possible. Read the entire page on this.

Thanks again,
Yeah, I read that. Looks like I have only one choice:petition release cause I signed housing license for the whole 2010-11 year. But since I read somewhere that quite a lot of freshmen were not placed into dorms and live in some hotel uptown, maybe NYU would not be so strict and let me leave by placing someone in my room? Or are there other ways out of NYU housing? If someone has first-hand experience on it or knows someone who does, please tell me what I should do.

I’d be interested in hearing about this cancellation thing, too. Sucks for me, I didn’t really check out the housing situation at NYU, only to end up in possibly one of the LEAST desirable rooms in Brittany. Seriously, why do people pay the same amount and get placed in rooms of drastically different setups? I also heard that housing’s very short this year, so I’m also counting on the petition thing. I’m gonna try to talk to my RA about it and get some advice.
