<p>I was not so much recommending Watertown as countering that it was necessary to go all the way in to Boston first. I would actually recommend it for living <em>after</em> grad school. </p>
<p>Travel in Boston can be slow during rush hour by any means of transportation (except maybe by bike.) A grad student might not need to travel at peak times, though.</p>
<p>The Hubway bike rental program is cool, but I don’t know how far out it goes. Do they have it in Davis Square? You can get a bike near a T station then leave it at a Hubway bike rack near your destination.</p>
