No, actually you receive the invoice in Nov for SPRING 2012.

Summer is always totally separate each year. You will get an email about when summer opens, and each summer has it’s own lottery and priority number. But summer housing is usually prime housing, so summer is not a big deal. Go online and sign up once it opens. You will get notification. Summer opens in like Feb/March or so, and everyone is in the same lottery, but I think upperclassman get priority over freshman. summer is Gilchrist, Cawthone, J Murphee, Reynolds and typical east side dorms, including DeGraf. Ragans is open for summer for upperclassman. The dreaded dorms of Kellum, Smith, Dorman, Deviney are closed for summer, and Wildwood 1&2 is used for orientations. Wildwood #3 will not be open until fall 2012.

Fall 2012 uses your original priority number, as does each fall until you graduate. You will get info via email in early Jan about signing up. The sign-up window is usually mid Jan to March 1sst. The good news is that many sophomores move off campus, so you will get a good location. While Ragans usually fills, Wildwood #3 will be open for fall 2012, and that is apartment style upper class housing also. So your chances for a new apartment style dorm just went up!!! When you get the info to sign up, there is about a 6 week sign up period, and there is NO HURRY, because they use your original priority number, so you can wait until the last week to finalize your plans. Once you sign up, you are obligated, so you want to be sure about staying on campus. You will get your assignment in late March or early April. And just like freshman, you can turn in a change request. You do have until mid-April to decline your contract.

Here is info for this past year to give you an idea. http://housing.fsu.edu/returnersignup.html
