<p>I don’t see how the quote about ISRC could be possible. If you “segregate yourself” into “ISRC-land,” that’s your choice. Nothing’s stopping you from socializing at the dorm AND joining other groups on campus. It MAY be true that many of ISRC-ers’ closest friends are also from ISRC, but I think that’s typical of any dorm. You’re most likely to make friends with the people you see the most often. Also, while it’s true that ISRC-ers do have a reputation for being quiet and studious and generally keeping to themselves (a reputation that I’m not sure is even warranted in the first place), the fact is, if you choose for your social life to revolve only around your dorm, that’s your choice. To me, that quote is implying that if you participate in the dorm, you’ll be forcibly chained to ISRC forever, which is blatantly false. You’re ALWAYS free to join clubs and activities and groups of friends outside of the dorm you live in, and people do.</p>
