Houston Music Scene

Coming from the land of Bright Eyes and Tilly and The Wall, you might be a bit disappointed by what Houston has to offer, but that’s not to say that there’s a musical void. HoustonPress is a decent source to find out what’s going on around town: [Music - Houston Concerts and Clubs](http://www.houstonpress.com/events/music). If you’ve ever foraged for a similar publication in NYC or Chicago, you’ll find that it’s a less interesting spinoff of TimeOut. Also, Warehouse Live usually hosts some good, lesser-known bands in addition to some larger acts. I saw Ben Folds there last semester.
As you probably know, Austin sorta steals the thunder of the Texas music scene. Luckily, Austin is only a 2.5 - 3 hour drive, and the ACL lineup will be announced on April 28! Sorry, I’m kinda excited…
