So glad all my neighbors are relatively sane. However, one house next to us is for sale so that all may change!
Sheesh, just be careful what you wish for.
I wished my next door neighbor would drop dead. And she did.
@morrismm, call the health dept., they should come to inspect, tell them you are fearful that it will draw rats.
Remind me not to make you angry, @dodgersmom!
OK, now my neighbor’s addition has become much larger. If they hang out on that back balcony they will see right into our kitchen. It might be time for curtains.
Well, @doschicos, if you move in next door and promptly start screaming at my 8-year old not to swim in the pond behind both our houses, I make no promises. When she was utterly unapologetic, I believe I said something along the lines of, “Well, I was here before you moved in, and I’ll still be here when you leave.” And her response was that she wouldn’t move out 'til she was dead.
FWIW, it took ten years (the 8-year old is now in college), and I wasn’t alone in my wish.
As to wishing someone dead, I worked with a guy that often wished that on his immediate superior. Wasn’t the only one… most everyone under him shared the sentiment.
He did differ, in that, when his boss was diagnosed with cancer, he didn’t take it back. Though he had to think it over for a half minute or so, he still demurred.
