How accurate do you guys think this UC Davis Points system is?

UC Davis Score

Factor Max possible Likely score Data Notes
Academic Factors.
- Uncapped GPA= UC gpa x 1000
- Test Scores Sat I (or ACT when converted)* plus top 2 subject tests
- ELC= 1000
- Classes beyond minimum requirements= number of a-g classes above 35 x 50 points
- Initiative= 500 3.0+ while attending a low performing school .
- Low Income= 500 (according to UC’s low income is when your family makes less than 45k a year)
- Academic prep program= 500 (I’m not sure but I think you need 2 or more to get full 500)
- First generation to college= 250 no college both parents, some college both parents, one has degree, sliding scale of points

Nontraditional Background- sliding scale of points
- Nontraditional background= 250 (home school or foreign school qualifier)
- Veteran credit= 250 (must be veteran or ROTC qualifier)
- Leadership= 500 must be two Pres/VP or equiv roles to get full credit
- Special achievement/talent= 250, two major (e.g. regional or national) awards needed for full points)
- Special challenges= 250, trauma in life qualifier (cancer survivor, other major life events)
- 9-11 grade improvement 250 0 marked improvement from 9 to 11 qualifier
7.Disability= 250

Cutoff Guess in 2008 (Someone elses guess)-7800
Cutoff Guess is 2011 (my guess)-8000, just to be safe

- according to the UC Translation Scale, the pattern to converting ACT to SAT is by multiplying your ACT score by 60 then adding 240.
Ex. 28 ACT60=1680+240= 1920 SAT
