<p>you get to rank your top 5 dorm building choices. you can also “sort of” request a floor if you choose a specialty floor. as a rising freshman, you can’t request a specific room, unlike everyone else. if you know enough about the building you wanna live in, it doesn’t hurt to try by requesting a specific room in the “additional information” section or at least saying something like “i’d like a room with a window view overlooking the charles river.”</p>
<p>for freshman year, roommates are completely random (unless you and a friend mutually request each other). i’m assuming the only thing they take into consideration is allergies (they would room 2 peanut allergic students together). also, if you’re an athlete, your coach might request to place you in a room or floor where some of your teammates are.</p>
