<p>do people realize how absurd it is to charge students a fitness center membership fee? even if cornell figures they’ll deduct the fee from tuition to not penalize the people who don’t use it, they forget that deduction and ramp up tuition to normal levels. most schools include fitness center access in tuition.</p>
<p>and i’m certainly no connoisseur of college gyms (that would be a crazy job), but i’ve yet to see a university gym worse than cornell’s. at GWU, Northwestern, and Haverford (that’s the limit of my experiences), they offer newer facilities and more equipment with no additional charge.</p>
