I drove by a house that had a lawn sign that said, “full size candy bars.” That’s a first for me!
H bought the candy this year and way too much but only one kind I like (M&M’s) He won’t be home until late so I’m stuck giving it out while trying to keep two dogs from barking like mad.
Back a couple of years ago when daylight savings time ended a week earlier, it was dark at 6 so felt more like Halloween and the little kids came really early. But now it’s still light out and nobody has been here yet.
Our trick or treat hours are 6 to 8pm. It’s close to dark right now.
For those of you who are worried about too much candy, I’m sure the kids who come to your door won’t mind receiving extra. I always give out more towards the end if I have too much.
Well…I have candy bags ready in case my six neighbors show up. Last year…no one came because the holiday was on the weekend…and they all went to parties instead. Wondering if anyone will come tonight.
pumpkins carved. House decorated by S20. cobwebs, spiders, scary guys & sounds, strobe lights, etc. (he has nothing going on now that cross country is over and he’s excited)
pot of chilli and cinnamon rolls going. Beers chilling. lots of candles going.
middle school daugther is having friends over before trick-or-treating. S20 is having 2 girls and 1 boy over! that should be interesting. Expecting 150+ kids at door. FUN EVE!
I feel your pain - that was always us. I can honestly say while we participated many years giving out candy, taking the kids out and all that, I am enjoying the peace & quiet (and a few less pounds) these last few years not giving out candy. I hope to start again when the grandkids come, but not in any hurry
My 20-year-old is at a party and my high schooler is trick-or-treating with friends. Hubby and I are watching movies and handing out candy. We only give chocolate, so I don’t mind leftovers. We probably won’t have any though.
We’ll have plenty. Bought some more today because I found out the local area woman’s club has someone that will collect leftovers to give to troops (Blue Star mothers I guess). If we were to run out I’d just turn out the lights- early ones get the candy (and so far cute younger kids).
It’s epic! Some amazing costumes this year 8 foot inflatable T rex got caught in our rose bushes, a LOT of Star Wars, lots of zombies, lots of those suits that are all one color and cover your face.
I can see the bottom of the bowl for the first bag of candy, time to crack into “the good stuff” :))
Huh, I guess I can’t link a facebook page, even though there’s a big facebook f at the bottom of every post. Anyway the giant meteor is really cute. Google it! We’ve had a bunch of kids and one Mom who also wanted a bag filled! :-/
