@TheStig you could be right. I was thinking that with an “average” incoming class of about 200 and an “average” graduating class of about 325, a decent number would be admitted as uppers.
Let me dispel this right now. AO at Exeter during interview said 40-50 Uppers for next years class. It was low last year because they over-enrolled the Lower class as preps (acceptances were higher than projections). In passing I’ll say that when I went there (late 70s), the Upper class was the most they let in of any year. The prep class was much, much fewer (like 50) and the Lowers and Uppers were where they took the most students. I went as an Upper, and it’s so much different now that I doubt I’d get in!
TheStig2 was correct. I’m currently a student here at Exeter, and the school did over enroll the 11th grade. Thus, you will have a smaller chance of getting in because there are fewer spots. I suggest having faith in your application and hoping for the best. Your test results may pull you down, but what’s done is done. The school also takes in other things into account. Your ECs are impressive so that may help you.
guess who just got in
Congrats!! Be sure to add it to the 2016 Decisions thread!
