<p>how to get a 4.0? Go to an easy school … take easy classes … only take classes in which you are comfortable and know you will do well … spend every waking moment working for a 4.0. OK, that was somewhat sarcastic but also someone truthful … for my kids I hope they use college to push themselves, to explore, to learn, to learn to learn, and to enjoy themselves. If you do all those things it’s pretty darn hard to get a 4.0. Should they try hard … of course … however my first goal is they push themsleves and try new things; which makes that 4.0 unlikely.</p>
<p>The grade I am most proud of as an undergrad is my B in Greek history … the lone engineer among history majors … and boy did I get smoked on the mid-term and my first paper (I had a F half way through the course) … great prof, great class, learned a ton … and “only” got a 3.0 in the class.</p>
