<p>The fact that the faculty is 99% liberal is more a reflection of the general academic world, rather than a reflection upon Rice specifically. I think you’ll find that 99% of professors <em>anywhere</em> are liberal. I’m fairly conservative and I never really felt my opinion stifled by any of the professors that I discussed politics with. Rice certainly has a liberal bent, but the climate is chill enough that everyone’s opinions can be aired without hostility, if not without disagreement, and there’s plenty of variety in opinion to make things interesting.</p>
