How did I get accepted?

No offense to that teacher, but that’s why you don’t want to ever put stock in what someone that likely has no recent experience in this area says. One of my biggest regrets from high school honestly was ever listening to any of the talking heads at my school that tried to give advice about college, because they were wrong on damn near everything.

FSU looks for a high level of academic course rigor, a good GPA, and if necessary, an upward trend (although, mostly they just don’t want to see a downward trend) in your grades. Test scores, since they can be taken over and over until you’re satisfied, aren’t as important, and as mentioned above, your scores aren’t bad (except Science on the ACT).
