How did you save on senior pictures?

Didn’t have one. Also didn’t buy a yearbook. FB > everything else

Also, I have a friend in college who takes MAGNIFICENT photos in all sorts of beautiful, artistic, poses…lying in leaves, etc. like scenes from a movie set. And the best thing is that when he takes photos of friends he puts his entire effort into it.

Beats any old commercial company.

I think it’s wonderful that our hs requires senior pictures be outdoors. I’m sure some kids must use the photographer the school brings in but I don’t personally know any of them. Everyone I know either uses a friend who dabbles in photography or something they took on their own. (DS#1’s senior pic was him with his cousin’s baby dangling upside-down next to him. I loved it.) (One of the pics we decided against was him holding the baby in the classic Heisman trophy pose, in case anyone wants to use that idea!)

I used a local photographer who does gorgeous work. Found her on the web, but she’s in our (small) town. Had her do both my seniors (college and high school) and some brothers pictures together. LOVE love love what she produced … and my high school senior is now featured on her senior portraits page …

You can get them done for free!

And if you’re in the NYC area this Sunday…

They do funny stuff, check out their other vids.

For those who are required to use Prestige…I did use a coupon code from a reminder post card they sent us…saved $80. Granted, bill was still $300+… I had to get a package—mainly because if I ordered ala carte for our needs, it was more than the package cost. ugh.

I could probably wallpaper the bathroom with the extras…

My D had a yearbook picture taken, but didn’t particularly like it, didn’t want to pay $$$ for a package.

Right before graduation, I took her to Portrait Innovations (chain) so she could have current photos to send with announcements. They have a $9.95 package. I ended up getting a few extra pictures, another pose, etc. It was around $30 total. They print up the pictures and give them to you within 30 minutes. (I’ve also had family pictures done at this place with good results).
