How difficult is it to get into Pitt's Main

From last year’s (super intensive) common data set, Pitt said a few things:

1- Academic GPA is “Very Important” (highest) as a part of the application, along with Standardized Test Scores and the rigor of your curriculum
2- in terms of SAT: 77% of students got a 600+ Math, and 63% of students got a 600+ CR (98% 500+ Math, 98% 500+ CR).
3- in terms of GPA: 67% of students had a GPA of 3.75+, 83% had a GPA of 3.5+, and 93% had a GPA of 3.25+ (UW). But, only 10% of students had a GPA between 3.25 and 3.49.
4- The average weighted GPA of students last year was 3.91 (!)

That means the following:

Get your GPA up as high as possible, preferably above 3.5 UW and score really well on your SAT/ACT to balance out the lower GPA. Apply early and with extras (recs, essay, etc.) You aren’t guaranteed admission (especially if you’re in-state), so you’ll need to work for it.
