I hope you realize that your stats for San Fran include a lot of the poorer San Fran community, whereas your Ladue stats are about the equivalent of a wealthy (ier?) San Fran suburb. I mean, compare Ladue to say, Palo Alto, and see what you get.

you’ll learn all this when you take economics (specifically macro)…for example the minimum wage in california is $6.75 but in Missouri, it’s $5.15, so everything from there is in proportion. ie: a teacher’s salary, etc. Also, can you tell me why most mcdonald’s in california don’t have the the dolllar menu anyone? But hey…in St. Loius they all have the dollar menu…EXACTLY.

It’s NOT worth it to live in San Bernardino county unless you want to live in the mountains, trust me. It’s NASTY. Smoggiest area, lots of crime, it’s in the desert, gets very hot (usually hovers over 100 perpetually between May and September), etc. I’m sure there are redeeming qualities, but since I live here (albeit in the mountains) I’m having a hard time thinking of any.

If you look, you can find what you want. You may have to stretch a bit (for example, the mountains down here are cheaper than most of CA, but they’re still a little on the high side: we got an AMAZING deal by buying this 4 bedroom, 3 bath house we’re living in at $225k; right now, without any enhancements, it would probably sell for $400k+), but you can find something. The trick is usually that you have to take a longer commute.
