My great uncle played tennis doubles and taught economics at local U through his 90s; died in his home at 107! His wife died in their home shortly thereafter.

Glad to here the anecdotes about those in their 80s and beyond. Perhaps I’ll enjoy my 80s as much as my 60s.

My dad is 91 and going strong. Where I live the golf courses and tennis courts are full of healthy 80+ seniors. Good reason to get out and exercise!

So today I asked a co-worker if the woman we were discussing looked 60, because the supervisor kept calling the husband a son. Co-worker said yes she looks 60. I didnt have courage to say “so she looks like me?”

I’m about to turn 65 and, if people are to believed, I don’t look it. I’m physically fit (obsessively so) and feel great. My dad lived until 89 1/2, and I have plans to live until I’m at least 95. For that reason, I’d like to work for five more years. Anyone hiring??

Its Medicare, not Medicaid, Calmom.

I turned 60 a few months ago. DH threw a party that turned out to be a bit bigger than we’d anticipated, but it was fun. Wa a great excuse to get the kids and their gf’s in for a visit. Was well worth it, though in retrospect maybe we should have just taken a family cruise or something. Regardless, being 60 is fine. I gleefully anounced it at the checkout line to get my senior citizen discount at the supermarket!

“I started small, but eventually removed all my sod and replaced it with mostly native landscaping. Incredibly therapeutic. I even started a sustainable horticulture program at an area community college and began volunteering with a local restoration community group.”

emeraldkity, didn’t someone suggest on a different thread that you get a hobby? Looks like you could give lessons on that subject.

I feel absolutely great about turning 60. In a few years. It certainly beats the alternative.

I have a job I love. A husband that loves me that I’ve been married to for 34 years. Three very happy and sucessful children that I get to see quite often. A grandchild and one on the way that live close enough so I can babysit. I have an extended family that I can depend on and many friends that I have known for years. My health is really good considering how old I am :)

Life if much better now than it has ever been.

Which supermarket chain gives a senior discount? I’m only into this aging thing for the discounts…

Kroger chain. On Wednesdays. Am standing in publix at the moment. Can ask if they do as well.

Yes. Publix does on weds as well

Thanks. Cool. More incentive to make that move to Florida.

Wegmans rocks, but Publix is a close second.

We’re not in Florida I think this is probably a nationwide policy
