I took a AP biology practice exam and got 64/100 on multiple choice and 27/40 on the free response

Can someone tell how u determine the composite score for AP biology exam

tell how they weight the multiple choice and free response.

or tell me a scale after u combine both MC and FR

Barrons say 60% is multiple choice and 40% is free response, but chiff has a different weighting system i am sure if barron has it right.

Tell me an approxiamate score plz I want to know score it’s frustrating me

64 *.9 + 27 * 1.5 and you then have to subtract 1/4 point for every wrong MC.

BigIs I have no idea what your doing. Please tell me what the * means and explain it verbally, because I also do not know how to calculate my score.

Thank you

The number of multiple-choice points is multiplied by .9

The number of essay points is multiplied by 1.5

The number of wrong MC answer is multiplied by negative .25

Add three numbers together and you have your composite score.

Bigis thank u very much, but I just want to know very u found this. and can u tell me a possible scale.

Does anybody know if this is still true with the new grading curve for 2011???

No, it does not entirely hold true, because there is no longer a penalty (-.25) for incorrect answers.

damnnnn. so how should i grade my practice tests now? HELP!

What I would do is score it using the same method except for the deduction for incorrect answers. Then…
If you barely got a 5, it’s debatable considering the curves will be way different this year since there’s no longer a guessing penalty. If it was a solid or high five, you’re pretty much in the clear for a 5 on the real thing.
