<p>You don’t need to pay COA at one time and you can pay them by semester. For example, your son’s room and board will be $8973 for both semesters, unless he stays in San Jacinto, Duran, a single room or a room with connected/private bath then the rate will be higher (see below). The 2012-2013 tuition rate for CS was $4848 per semester. As UT mother posted, there is a tuition installment plan for each semester. When the school starts, if you choose the installment plan you just need to pay the half of the semester tuition $2424 and $15 (installment fee) plus half of the housing and food $ 4486, total $6925. You will then pay remaining tuition ($2424) at the next two payments in the fall. In the spring semester, you will do the same. For textbooks, there are many options to buy at discounted prices. For the entire year, your COA will not be anywhere near 27K.</p>

<p>We fully fund our son’s education ourselves. That is what it is and we know the money is well spent for the quality of education he receives at UT.</p>
