Some are, some aren’t. The NPCs that ask specifically if the applicant is international can be relatively more accurate than those that don’t ask. Of course OP has to enter full and complete information as well, and do proper exchange rates calculations as necessary.

@Ashmaan – I asked web to create a table from your list of colleges, showing average net price, estimated acceptance rates for int’l applicants, etc., etc. I suggest doing something similar, except with info that is more specific & accurate for you. Your net price will likely be the most limiting filter – as well as the most inaccurate part of the sample table I’m including below – so you’ll need to spend a lot of time figuring that out. HTH.

Average net price may be misleading, since an international student may not be eligible for financial aid or scholarships at many of the listed colleges and universities.
Plus everyone’s finances are different - if I’m wealthy, NYU and Notre Dame aren’t $29 and $30K.

Create your list based on the following:
- Affordability. Identify your annual budget (taking travel into account) and apply to schools that meet it (or cost less..).
- Identify your academic interests – potential majors – and only apply to schools that offer those programs. It would be a shame to be stuck at a school that didn’t offer what you wanted to study.
- Once those two most important factors are addressed, figure out what you want your experience to be like. For instance, consider things like:
- Location
- Weather
- Setting (urban, suburban/small city, rural)
- Social/Greek vibe
- Sports vibe
- Political vibe
- Curriculum (standard, heavier core, open…)
- Academic calendar
- Dorms and food
This list could comprise really anything that’s important to you.
Once you have completed steps 1 and 2, rank those schools according to your preferences as expressed in step 3. Choose as many or as few as you like, as long as at least one of them is an admissions safety. It is typical for a kid these days to have a some reaches, some matches, and a couple of safeties on the application list.
