I had a medical appointment today. It was the first time in many years that I’ve seen this physician; I had to switch to someone else because of an insurance change but a recent merger brought his organization back into my insurance plan. I expected to be told that I shouldn’t be concerned about the dental anesthesia side effects; instead, the doctor ordered an EKG, lab tests, and an echocardiogram. So the suspense continues. I am glad I followed up, even though now I’m quite nervous.
@rosered55, I’m sorry you’re nervous but glad your md is following up. I have been fortunate to only have pretty good experiences with dentists, just like my H and kids. We have sedation if it’s likely to be a deep filling, otherwise I generally have been opting for no anesthesia. I have never had any side effects from dental anesthesia or sedation.
I hope your MD can give you good news and suggestions for any further dental sedation you may need.
Better safe than sorry. That engine is not to be messed with. Hope the tests will give you a clean bill of health.
