How do you pack for a trip in a carryon?

My little black dress, which I recently found at Ross resembles this

It does fall just above my knees and has a small gold embellishment where the wrap attaches to the rest of the dress. My sleeves are much shorter as well. The fabric is a light, non-wrinkling knit. I expect to get great use from this dress.

Because I get cold, I usually stick with jeans and slacks when we travel. I can see bringing this dress and black leggings.

@conmama - with a curling iron, you’ll need a power converter as well as a plug adaptor or you’ll fry your appliance. Converters are a bit heavy.”

No, you don’t necessarily need a converter if the iron is dual voltage (mine all are). Check the sticker or tag on it. If it says 110V/220V, you are good with just a simple plug adapter.

Mine is dual voltage, I did check…hope it works ok.

The biggest advantage with packing cubes is if you move from place to place. If you are just going to one place and unpacking not as big a deal for keeping organized.

Note - You can also use 2 gallon ziplock bags. That’s what my kids like to do, especially for the yukky running clothes stuff.

I find that the ziplock bags retain air in them and hence don’t squish down sufficiently. I find it works well to pack shoes in regular plastic grocery bags and then use those for separating dirty laundry or alternatively, pack a pillowcase for the dirty laundry.
