How does a kid forget to register for next sem?

I’m sorry, but this thread title made me laugh. One day, it will make you laugh, too. But not today. (((hugs)))

As I sit here worrying about my absent minded professor son getting through finals, I realize I’m not alone out there. And yes, you will laugh about this after he graduates and has a job.

I could write a book about things I never thought I’d have to say.

Yes when it’s all done and over you can laugh. I told my kids if they didn’t register as soon as they could they were never, ever to call and complain to me about 8 AM classes or their shi**y schedule.

One semester S had to literally run across the campus to find his advisor and get a registration control number 10 minutes before the registration deadline!

Another semester, instead of reminding him the night before, I waited until after registration to ask him if he got the classes he wanted. He’d forgotten all about it…

But our kids remember to do what is important to them! They turn in papers and take finals. Quit enabling them when they “forget” to sign up for next semester classes.

I love all the replies in here. I suddenly don’t feel so alone in my trials and tribulations.

Is memory truly selective? Why do I remember myself having it so much more together? I don’t think I did but I also don’t remember the day when everything just clicked.

I’ve laughed at some of the replies myself but I’m still not laughing at our predicament. Waiting for the day when I can. Probably after the sigh of relief at graduation.

I have a feeling your son will be taking a few 8 am classes…

8 or in my LAC’s case, 9 am classes aren’t the end of the world. Some like yours truly preferred them so we have our afternoons/evenings free to work, study, and hangout. :)
