<p>I had a lot of the similar problems as well, I was sick last year and for two months the doctors thought it was cancer. I also had a family murder, a family death, brother in hospital, dad in the hospital this year (yeah, not much good luck…). Now I have to work 40/hrs a week because of the economy.</p>
<p>My GPA did not take as much as nosedive as you, but it still declined.</p>
<p>Did you explain all your problems in a separate letter? When I visited last April the Adcom told me it was best for me to write a separate letter explaining everything, and then they would seriously consider the circumstances. So, I so that you still have a chance, but your essays and recommendation letters have to be outstanding to pull you through. Good luck!!!</p>
