<p>changes to OP’s strategy I’d suggest:

  1. get him an sat tutor/class
  2. apply non-binding ea to 2-3 matches (UM ann arbor comes to mind, it’s where my son ended up with a similar profile). If he gets in, you can drop the safe schools and add a couple of reaches.
  3. identify an ED2 school.</p>
