Artloversplus - absolutely!

In today’s Internet age, pictures are the most important part of your listing. Every room that is photographed has to be perfect and de-cluttered and bright!!

I recommend significant de clutter and get all your windows washed really well. Take all your screens off, clean them and store in garage until it’s sold. Clear clean windows make a huge difference.

Also, the photographer will not wait for you to move stuff from one room to another room. They are in and out quickly, unless your realtor has paid an extra fee for him to wait around while you’stage’

Coral brook - I wished I’d read your posts before today. We had de-cluttered, and staged, but I didn’t think of the windows so my husband was there with the Windex and paper towels, last minute. Our realtor gave me the name of a good window cleaner. We’ll try to get him in before the open house.

OMG – I’m posting right after I just posted – I look like alpha girl.

Guess who is the prime candidate for getting buried upside down in the neighbor’s dirt? DH. He announced today he isn’t ready/it’s too soon/he wished he had another week for this open house stuff.

I have woken up early/cleaned non-stop/come home early just to clean up the house.

I wish I could do this around him but he is so controlling if he doesn’t feel like doing something, it won’t happen.

So now we’re officially on MLS and he refuses to show the house.

As they used to say in Ladies Home Journal, can this listing be saved???

Can’t the realtor just pull it off right now, for a week?

Thanks bd – she said she can hold off making the pics “live” and try the public open house Sunday then broker open house Tuesday (the inferior day – they do them Tuesday and Thursday and apparently Thursday is the preferred day).

What I don’t want is a MLS listing on line and available and no open house or realtor buzz. That seems wierd. Like there’s something wrong.

I have been up since 6 am, and basically awake since 1:30. I want to cry.

In Californina, if you do not have even one photo live in MLS, the Realtor will be fined.

A photo of the upside down St. Joseph will do.:)

^ha!

California sounds nice right now. Anywhere but here.

Oh no, please don’t cry! And definitely don’t bury your husband in the neighbors yard (maybe the cellar would be better)? Just kidding! I know how stressful moving is, selling your house, getting everything ready…it is so awful. And to have your husband give you a hard time about it has got to be the last straw. But it sounds like the realtor is slowing things down a bit. Perhaps your husband will change his mind when he sees how good the house looks? If not, at least it’s only a week! My husband had different ideas than I did for selling our last house, but opposite than yours. The house was trashed, in the middle of being painted, and he wanted to put it on the market in the middle of the painting and mess! Luckily me and my realtor friends were able to convince him not to do it.

Hopefully, very soon, this will all be a distant memory!

Thanks bd11 for the positive karma and funny story. I wasn’t really going to bury him. You know why? Tomorrow’s recycling day.

^^Oh my God!!! That was the first time I’ve laughed all day. Now I have tears rolling down my face. Thankfully I’m not in public!

I think I am going to have to get one of those handy dandy statues when I list the house.

Maybe I can bury it in one of the gopher holes in my front yard. That little rat ■■■■■■■ is ruining my life. Would it help sell the house and scare the gopher away?

(from the slip of paper that came with “The Real Authentic Patron Saint of Real Estate” statue)
“burying the statue upside down will not only help you sell your house quickly and at a good price, but it can also help rid your property of pesky rodents, wildlife, and crabgrass.”

I believe that. I do.

Having built a putting green this summer and then having a horrific 3 weeks waging war with The Mole from He_, I love the last 2 posts! It is beyond reason how much damage they can wreck. It was like watching “Caddyshack” in real time. I have pictures of my successfully hunting. Humane trapping, my . He’s lucky I didn’t take him to the taxidermist.

I was right there until they said “crabgrass”.

That takes at least archangel-class holiness.

“burying the statue upside down will not only help you sell your house quickly and at a good price, but it can also help rid your property of pesky rodents, wildlife, and crabgrass.”

Hmmm, I could save a small fortune on lawn service.

wow! really! It costs my neighbor $200 each time he calls for gopher control, for the past 10 years he must spent $5K on that alone. How much is that statue costs? I am going to buy a truck load! :)

In all seriousness, I cannot fathom how one little rodent can cause so much damage.

I have tried garlic traps, flooding them out, smoke bombs designed for gophers, and yet they persist. They mock me.

Our neighbor cat had one in it’s sights yesterday. I was rooting for him to send the little guy to gopher heaven. Unfortunately, the beast lived to see another day.

I’ve had gophers popping up in my yard recently. I can’t understand why they want to live there when there’s a national forest not more than 50 feet away!
