My application was completed about a week ago. I’m very worried about getting in because until this year I’ve only taken a total of 5 honors classes. My GPA is a 3.55 weighted and my SAT is 2050 750M 670CR 630W. I’m taking 2 AP classes and 3 honors classes this year. How much will the lack of rigor in my schedule hurt my chances?

The fact you have 2 APs plus 3 honors would be considered a more rigorous courseload than no APs or honors classes. Your SAT is great although your weighted GPA is a little low, the fact that your classes are “harder than standard” should help (combined with the better test scores). I think you’ll be ok. What school/major did you apply to?

Arts and sciences for economics

my son only had one honors class and a second class that was weighted. he went to a small school with limited options, his SAT was slightly better than yours and his gpa was better than yours but a 3.55 is still decent. anyway, he had no trouble getting admitted to pitt last year. i will defer to awesome on gpa issue as she is way more up on pitt admissions than me. and honestly, i cannot imagine u not getting admitted with your SAT breakdown which i just looked at more closely.

Like ctl987 said, I think you’ll be ok. What classes were your honors/AP and how have you been doing/done if them. If you’re been taking AP Econ or Honors Econ or something and doing well- that’s gonna look good to the admissions committee.
