This article really had nothing to do with Facebook. They could have just replaced Facebook with any other time consuming hobby. All it said was, “People who study less have lower GPAs”, which isn’t all that surprising.

"Try getting a part-time job at one of the academic department libraries (not the main university one). I worked at the Anthropology library and later on at the College of Education’s library at my school. All I did was set at the desk at processed check in/out books for students with some evenings just seeing less than 5 students. I studied the rest of the time on the job. "

My part time job is as a math/science tutor for the college. On days that I’m not booked, I’m allowed to spend the time studying or whatnot. Now that I’m a junior, I think I will finally be paid more than minimum wage. Tutors work less than 15 hours a week, so I think I’ll have the time for it, but I will definately stop if I need more time for school. Losing my scholarship is just not worth it.
