And one CCer to kill the joke thread with actual FACTS on light bulbs…

:P

Then there are the ones who come late to the thread, and share their experiences with “the change”, except not the one everyone else was talking about.

And there will always be the ones who will give a very detailed description of how and where to buy the bulb, and what size, shape, wattage, and color to get. We will know where the cheapest outlet is, albeit Walmart or Target or the local Whole foods market, which by the way, doesn’t have fresh lettuce or the right granola bars. This will all be after a detailed description of the specified thread count and required size of the sheets needed for the dorm room beds…:)

“sexual advantage of the caucasian male in screwing in a bulb.”

And 1 to derail the thread with an ad hominem attack, pointing out how sexist another’s remark was, and that females are certainly as capable of screwing as males. Er, never mind…

"And one CCer to kill the joke thread with actual FACTS on light bulbs… "

[sigh…throwing in facts was meant to be PART of the joke!! I always have problems with punchlines too… LOL]

I think that the comment quoted by scansmom meant that when the “facts” quoted are so far beyond the parody that they have nothing really to do with lightbulbs then the joke is gone.

Which makes me:

(1 to stick her finger in the socket and short circuit the whole system.)

“…that females are certainly as capable of screwing as males.”

You go girl ! !

Well, CC parents shouldn’t be changing the bulbs anyway. Stop coddling your kids & being helicopter parents. The kids will gain confidence and maturity that will take them a long way if we allow them to learn independence. Besides, our knees are shot & it’s hard to climb ladders anymore.

…and then a whole slew of them to call the electrician to fix the whole system that was shorted by the illuminatingly-challenged CCer. Which brings us back to square - I mean, post #1 (sorry about that folks!)

I just wonder whether US Bulbs & Watts Report existed when G… said: “Let There Be Light?”

This is a great pastime for January (it’s cold & grey here) for those of us who aren’t able to soak up the natural sunlight of the tropics.

I say keep screwing in those bulbs! It takes a village!

Three: One to change the lightbulb. One to argue that you should give it another semester before changing. One more to chide you that you wouldn’t be changing if you’d done your research in the first place.

Scanmom, you must have missed Mommusic’s :P

I think she got the joke.

:P = ? Is there a manual I can get somewhere? I’m the first to admit that I am challenged in more ways than one - and people wonder how I ended up with a son with Aspergers!

:P is eyes open and tongue in corner of mouth.
is a grin and a wink. (That was a semi-colon and a right parenthesis before CC changed it)
:-)… is a drooling smile.

Don’t forget the CC’er who happens to be an alum of the old “burned out” light bulb.
He’ll get him a job somewhere, probably a night job in shipping.

42 to suggest that state school lightbulbs purchased a gross at a time are just as good as the private bulbs.

77 to suggest that nothing manufactured by the state could possibly be as good for any application as a handmade private bulb.

1 to point out that the darn bulb was just destined for the hall closet in the first place and that the money should be saved for the living room bulb that you’ll need in 4 years (because that’s the bulb everyone will be looking at).

One to suggest that before deciding on which new light bulb to use - a state bulb, a major brand name available widely in stores, an off-label brand or one produced by a small Midwestern manufacturer, one should first visit a representative manufacturing plant of each type to assess the suitability of the bulbs manufactured there for the location planned for it - and preferably to visit at a time the factory is in operation.

One to provide a link to light bulb manufacturing sites.

One to provide a link that lists which off-label or store brand light bulbs are made by which major companies.

And three to criticize, comment on or add to the list of recommended light bulb factories to visit, or to remark that the list is out of date.

dadofsam: There could only be one brand of bulbs: Fiat. As in Fiat Lux. But the wattage might differ, and the shape, and emitted light.

:P = at least in my part of the world, has always meant sticking out your tongue. I think it was the first smilie I learned, after the standard smilie:
:D
