<p>Of course college students are naive, particularly freshman who, with their newfound independence, think that by virtue of their parents leaving after moving them in, they’re instantaneously more mature. This is obviously untrue, but I don’t think anyone’s to blame for their naivete. </p>
<p>Regardless of if said students are at school in the middle of nowhere, detached from the realities of everyday living, or in an urban metropolis where one is forced to come into contact with the best and worst aspects of life, the experience of college is always going to be in a bubble. </p>
<p>The question is: is there anything wrong with this? I don’t think so. College is about stepping outside of the shell you occupied in your earlier life and molding into the person you will be as an adult. This of course takes longer for some than others, but everyone’s different. There’s nothing particularly wrong with being a naive college student. It’s a part of being young.</p>
