<p>see this is the problem… people who apply to 42 colleges are one of the primary source’s to the incredibly high competition to get into these great universities. if you are not serious about all colleges you apply to, then the answer is simple. don’t apply to those colleges! do everyone else a favor and help lower this ridiculous and unreachable bar laid out due to the huge numbers of applicants and thus, the extremely low acceptance rates.
also, it is a waste of money to apply to that many schools. </p>
