How many questions skip/wrong to get a 750+ Math?

Thank you for the replies, I guess that I’m gonna try to answer as many questions as possible.

I got an 800 on the Math part of the March 08 SAT, and missed/skipped zero questions.

Does this mean that there was no curve? Or could people that missed/skipped like one still get an 800?

THERE IS ALWAYS A CURVE. Always. Period.

Stop asking that.

A curve does not necessarily mean that missing one will get you a 800. A curve just normalizes scores from different tests. Missing one may get you a 790 or it may get you a 780. Those scores are still both curved though.

And why would the test not be curved just because you missed 0… You can’t get higher than 800, so if you miss 0, you will always have an 800. Every single time… It doesn’t matter if the test is curved or not.

Some people ask the dumbest questions…

i got 2 wrong and got a 750

I got 7 wrong and got a 720

thats a complete lie ivy.

yea 3 wrong 2 omit= 700 for me

i agree with Quix.
like i said in the previous post,in this thread, -7 = 720 is a joke.
i dont know why a bunch of idiots are claiming this. i found my self extremely lucky to get -5 and got a 710, considering some got -4 =690.
all-ivy-, u’re not getting ur 800 in math,i doubt u even break ur 650s in math.

Are you serious? The test was virtually impossible; I’m surprised I didnt get even a higher score.

I got a 750 with 2 wrong on the May SAT and a 770 with one wrong in March. Your teacher has no idea what (s)he is talking about.

When I took the SAT I only missed 2 (so -2.5 with guessing penalty) and got 740…

7 wrong implies a raw math score from 45 to 47, depending on how many were multiple choice. Using a bunch of SAT curves from the last few years gives a score from 650 to 710, and using “typical” curves gives 670-690.

…and using that same data, for 750+ you realistically need a raw score of 52, which is two wrong or omitted (note that on some tests you can’t actually score a 750). Occasionally, 51 is also good enough for 750.

Got 3 wrong in March, no omits. 710.

Well the harsher the curve, the easier the questions should be right?

I had -2=750 or 760 three times and -1=790 a couple of times.

One omitted is 780.
One wrong is 770.
Two omitted is 750
Two wrong is 740.

Beyond two, the score drops down to 730 and decreases by the normal intervals of 10.

^? um? i think if u get 1 wrong or 2 wrong ,its the same as 1 omit or 2 omit. because the penalty .25 rounds back up,so we dont lose anything…

Ahntimmy… really? -4 wrong was a 690 !!! Wow. I got 3 wrong in June and had a 730… large gap.

^probably urs is 2 wrong on mc, and 1 on grid/omit, that’s no penalty.
his is probably -5 on overall raw score. so thats a diff…
