I think being 1st generation is a hook.

Hey Man,

Good luck. I’m in the same post. I got a D in AP Calc and transferred to regular math where I got an A. I also got a C in AP physics and then worked w/ a tutor to get a B. It was the hardest curriculum in the school. A’s otherwise all around except for the mostly honors math classes and honors chem, both of which I had B’s in. My activities are good, my standardized tests are good, but that D in calc from taking a risk to take a challenge is going to bite me, I fear.

I hope your C doesn’t hurt you. My guess is, if it’s the only one, you’ll be fine.

Peace.

Cool story bro. How did you do in your English class?

Oh, and you might want to actually get in before you even contemplate telling someone to “Forget this forum” as if you own it.

I won’t be surprised if you end up at UC Riverside.

While I find it funny that I spelled interested wrong, 1st generation was a semi-kinda-idk one. My dad is currently in our state school on a police program getting an associate’s degree so I put down some college education.

And Saugus–he was clearly being sarcastic, relax bud. He was being an extreme of the stereotypical CCer who constantly says “Not good enough GPA. Not good enough extracurricular. You have breadth, but not depth. You have depth, but no breadth” and so on and so on.

If you want competition, do IB in Florida (60%+ drop-out rate). If you think even that doesn’t give you competition then I wonder why you’re not a Harvard Freshman at age 14.

Apparently, my school doesn’t let you re-take with a C…

Oh well, after flunking yesterday’s test, I’ll probably get a D and re-take it for my GPA. I’m never taking a math class at this high school again. -.-;

So, how much does a D hurt? Lol.

Bump.

I’m about ready to slit my wrists. -.-;

Will they care if the D doesn’t count towards my GPA due to grade replacement?

“Your transcript will have all courses taken in each semester, but the grade and attempted
credits are not figured in your GPA for repeated courses. This will not make a difference
to your being accepted and yes, your D would be invisible.
Please don’t be upset over this. You will recover. Enjoy your Thanksgiving Holiday. Did
you take the PSAT??”

What exactly does this mean? That’s from my counselor.

actually funniest thing. i got 101 in english all through high school. and just graduated from harvard, so coming back here and answering ur questions r just well funny.:))))

I can assume that you didn’t even get into Harvard since you made a chance thread. Fail.

Also, nobody who even sniffs an admissions letter from Harvard would ever sound as idiotic as you. Learn to spell and use correct grammar.

And also this:

I don’t know which is more pathetic- You lying about graduating from Harvard when it is so blatantly obvious that you didn’t; just to show me up, or your grammatical skills.

Seriously. You sound like a twelve year old to me.

Man, I’m dying to hear his response.

I wouldn’t worry too much. I got a B- in my pre-calc. class first semester freshman year, and I’m currently a Harvard first year planning to study mathematics.
