<p>Personally, I feel that ethnicity helps in the sense that a minority with ‘good’ scores is more rare. There may be many Asian/Caucasians with similar scores and great extracurriculars but not as many good scores/great extracurriculars among minorities. This helps the minority to be ‘unique’, i guess. A lot of people on CC say that if you are a minority you can get in anywhere, which isn’t true, but I can’t deny, a minority with lower stats still may be accepted to a top university over a non-minority with better stats.</p>
