How much financial aid are you receiving?

^ I agree with you that it is my own personal business. BUT, on the fact that Binghamton will give out financial aid if it is needed… I’m not so sure.

I’m of a single parent household on Long Island. My mother barely makes enough to buy food and pay the mortgage most months, and still, we didn’t qualify for a Pell Grant because, while her salary is over the national average, the fed. government doesn’t take into account the expense of the cost of living on Long Island. So, I only received a small work study and a very small TAP award. The only thing that is making Bing affordable is the fact that even with the, frankly, pathetic amount of FA I’ve received, it is still the least expensive of my options. I’l still be at least $40k in debt when I graduate, that’s IF my mother gets a second job and I win some serious scholarship money.

But we figured it was better than being $100k in debt… which I would be if I went elsewhere.
