I always keep bread in the freezer; it doesn’t get stale. I kind of shake up the loaf so the slices don’t stick together before I put it in, then just pull out the slices I need and put them in the toaster.

As for the price of bread around here, I buy Dave’s Killer Bread [Dave’s Killer Bread!!!](http://www.daveskillerbread.com/) because I like their contributions to the community (and they’re local). It’s around $6 for a large loaf full of whole grains, seeds, and great taste.

I also freeze various types of breads. If I buy a loaf that is not sliced, I slice it before freezing it. If it is something like Italian bread, I just slice it into sandwich lengths that I will use and then freeze it.

There is a commercial bakery within an hour from my home that sells to businesses. They are also open to the public. I will go there two or three times a year when I want something special, or when I am within a few minutes of where they located. I will stock up there because all of their bread is much cheaper than what I would pay locally and its right out of the oven! Nothing like biting into a warm baked good on the ride home and calling it lunch! Often its better quality than what I can find at upscale specialty stores near me too!
