Don’t really recall any significant change in utilities, but no more $ for uniforms. Just traded in one school tuition for another, and still paid for books, meals (meal plans) and some monthly spending $, so don’t really recall any “savings”. That said, we are savers by nature, so DH did squirrel away $ for 401Ks. Etc. College savings had been started when they were born.
Food and tennis lesson. The tennis related expense is huge so I am so glad to see it ends. Still have to pay his car insurance and gas, plus all college expense. But I told him he needs to cover his own fun expense.
Definitely the swim club fees, travel and the equipment. Those fast skins (racing suits) are pricey $150+ and they don’t last long
I am excited to say that d received full ride scholarship + yearly $3000 research stipend & $1000 expenses yesterday from her 1st choice school - MSU (University Distinguished Scholarship). If she makes varsity dance team she will be a Division I athlete; most colleges also offer free spirit wear and book scholarship at this level.
Soooo… we will save $13,000/ yr for the competitive dance program that she has done since she was 5 yrs old. She has had enough dance training she could go pro. She has wisely chosen MD path instead.
Wowie, @momofsmartdancer. Congratulations!

Thanks! We are so excited about this scholarship. After visiting MSU, d moved it to her 1st choice and we were holding our breath in the hopes of a scholarship. She says she wants to start at MSU ASAP- she is ready to move-in tomorrow! Not only is it a good match for her, but I am also happy that it is not too far from where we live (4hrs)- so we will be able to see her more often.
Just sent you a PM, momofsmartdancer.
