<p>You generally need to apply ED to get the legacy boost. If Harvard is your second choice (RD) despite your parents going, honestly you’ll have an average (less than 10%) chance to get in.</p>
<p>It would be a good idea for your parents to reach out to their local Harvard alumni association and see if they have any legacy admissions meetings coming up. It might be worth your while, and they’d clarify if applying RD would give you the legacy boost.</p>
<p>As for “not great” SAT, above 2000 might be good enough with all of your other stats.</p>
