how often do long distance relationships work out?

I was in a long distance relationship for about 2.5 years. It was really hard for the both of us, as we were separated by thousands of miles apart. It sucked TBH, I had to stay up late at night/early morning and the same for her just to talk. In addition, I used to get stories about other boys trying to hit on her and it used to burn me emotionally as I knew there was nothing I could do. As me being a guy, the idea of just boys looking at my gf makes me go crazy and makes the adrenal go rushing through my blood. So I’d assume you’d understand how angry I felt.

I honestly don’t know how we broke up. I think it was something to do with the finals week and I haven’t been in contact with anybody not even her. So we might of just faded away. I thought she was the one, but hey, somethings are just not meant to be and Im ok with that.

The bright side is that I can now focus on my studies next semester and honestly, I feel kind of " free " if you know what I mean.

I met this new girl, and I seem to have a crush on her. We both are majoring in chemE and I hope thing work out between us :)

The bottom line is: Expect some rough nights, pain, and be patient. If your really dedicated you can make it through !
