I’m thinking of all of the girls on my floor who came into school with prior relationships. Including myself, I can think of six girls, and of those, two have stayed together with their significant other. Both of our boyfriends are less than an hour away.

At the same time, I have met and spoken to a girl who goes to school here, in New York, and has a boyfriend at home in Argentina. The answer is that it’s always a possibility, but the odds are really against it. You’ll probably just drift apart at separation due to meeting new people and changing as a result, and that’s okay.
