How reliable is DoDMERB?

The website seems to have changed from last year - I got curious about this and went to the fridge and looked at the printout of my daughter’s medical waiver on the DoDMERB site - yes I screen printed the page and posted it on the fridge (it was a happy day!)

My daughter applied to 3 SA’s and AROTC last year - was offered at AROTC scholarship - she is reapplying to USMA.

There was not a row declaring Admission status last year.

This year under each agency it says:
**Agency:/b
**Admission status:/b
Admission Status change date: AROTC - 4/13/07, USMA - 8/2/07, USNA - 3/23/07, USCGA 9/26/07 (date application was added)
**Current Medical Status:**OTC and USMA both say Medical waiver granted 8/7/07 (this date was updated since last spring), USNA and USCGA both say pending waiver- submission review 8/7/07.

Clearly what is new from last year is the Admission status and the Admission status date change.
It appears from this and what other posters on this and other forums are saying that the Naval Academy is updating the Admission status at the speed of light. While this efficiency is remarkable in government - kids seem to be finding out their admission status - offered, or LOA from the DoDMERB website and not from admissions directly.
I understand this is coming directly from admissions and not DoDMERB and I wonder if admissions is aware of this.
Look ahead to next spring when rejections start going out - from the DoDMERB website my daughter got her rejection from USNA on 3/23 but didn’t get her letter until mid-April.

IMO - kids should not be finding out their admissions status from the DoDMERB website but that is what is happening.

Apparantly USMMA is also updating dodmerb at the “speed of light” - and candidates are finding out admissions decisions from there as well.
