@Snowfire88
Thank you. This has helped lift my spirits. I will keep in touch with Deerfield.
Andover is going to be late guys
Just recieved an email from Andover, it states the following:
Important Message Regarding Online Decisions
Greetings from Andover,
We understand that many of you are attempting to log-in to view your Andover admission decision. Unfortunately, due to the very high volume of log-in attempts, the system is experiencing a delay. We apologize for this inconvenience, and hope to remedy the situation as soon as possible. We are working with our vendor to reset the server.
Thank you so much for your patience and we sincerely apologize for the delay.
Hopefully the wait isn’t too long!

So Brooks just says to check its online application portal for a decision letter. We can log in and see that his application is complete, but there is no decision letter posted. They said it would be posted “March 10” but no specific time. Its now after 5pm, so I figure that’s it for the day. Anyone else apply to Brooks and have a letter? or no letter?
We got an email acceptance from Brooks early this morning. But another school (St Mark’s) that said they would email did not.
Did you get the email last week with instructions on the portal for signing up for notification from Brooks?
I see on the master list many people have heard from Milton. How are you guys hearing? We haven’t received anything which I’m guessing is bad news. No worries. DD got into two great schools but still curious of course.
@bookwormsmom, Milton mails only without email or online notice.
@SculptorDad Do you know … are they FedExing to those accepted and snail mailing to those who didn’t?
I don’t. Doing that without online notification doesn’t sound nice though.
Weird @mass2020mom We did get the email from Brooks last week, and set up our online accounts, but nothing today–no email,and nothing when we check the online application/portal at the link they sent last week. I’m guessing that’s bad news, but why not say “acceptances posted online” or something, so we know…not the end of the world, as we did get other good news today, so we have options.
and, we did get an email from St. Mark’s at 6:00 am–it was a “welcome video”, and the Director of Admissions called me on my cell phone “to make sure we got it” early this afternoon.
Still haven’t received word from Milton. Today’s mail already came and we are only in NY. Hardly hopeful but would like to close this chapter and move on. Sigh.
@bookwormsmom…same
Two years ago our Milton acceptance arrived 3 days late via USPS (not Fedex, although we live in NYC).
Got an email rejection from St. Mark’s today. It said that they sent it yesterday to the child’s email account but it wasn’t opened, so they were resending to the parent today. I may have mis-typed my daughter’s email address because she definitely didn’t see it yesterday! Happy to hear that they didn’t do a 2-tiered acceptance/rejection type of communication.
@mom2laxer, did you ever hear from Brooks?
@SculptorDad @bookwormsmom DD2 received her small, white waitlist letter from Milton today, via USPS. I know now why ours took so long to come. We moved in January. I am certain that we had our new address on our applications, but the letter was addressed to our old address, and then forwarded. They must have had our old address in their system, either because of our initial inquiry this year or DD1’s application last year (she was wait listed too).
Still waiting to hear from Thayer, but I suspect that’s taken a detour too.
@momonymous … same. Not the address part, but the small, white wait list letter. Glad to have it done anyway. All the best moving forward. Did DD1 get off the wait list last year?
@bookwormsmom …no, DD1 never got off the wait list. We kept her there all thru the summer, but she’s happy at the school she chose. In fact, an acceptance for DD2 at Milton would have been challenging anyway, logistically speaking.
Anyone know the conditions for Exeter waitlist?
@bluetoon
I applied to Exeter last year and was put on the waitlist. I never got off the waitlist. I don’t think they take many students from the waitlist since Exeter has a high yield rate.
@mass2020mom I emailed Brooks on M10 night to say we didn’t have a decision letter posted. The emailed the next morning saying sorry we had trouble logging in (which we didn’t! We logged in and could see his app was complete, etc, but no decision posted) anyway she sent it, and he was wait listed. Thanks for asking! Sorry about St Marks for you.
