I go to an all-boys private, catholic, college-prep high school. Considering all that, my school is less strict then some public schools I know.

attendance: all absentees must report that they won’t be in school before 8:05 am by a parent. Two consecutive days need a doctors note. Too many lates/absents could mean detention.

homework: homework counts for at least 10% of your grade, so omit at your own risk. (most accelerated/honors/AP teachers don’t check homework, it wastes class time and you need to do it to do well in the class anyway)

staying on school grounds: no one is allowed to leave school grounds. first offense = after school detention.

coming late to class: my school is campus style (we have classes in four different buildings), so teachers allow a 3 minute extra leeway. Coming late too many times equals a teacher detention.

walking in the halls during class (for exmaple if going to the restrooms): perfectly fine.
