that’ll work. Just didn’t know if anyone had any experience – pro or con – with Mt. Sinai. With a little googling, I see that Cornell-Weill has a clinic at 84th and Broadway.
Many people at my office, myself included, have used the Beth Israel clinic on E. 34th Street. I have not had any problems, although I was annoyed that the ENT constantly canceled my appointments the day of. They have a new one now, I am told. I get my mammos there and have had x-rays. A friend sees a cardio there.
NYU-Langone is also a good source. It has many different types of practices. The main facility is at 1st Avenue in the low 30’s.
@bluebayou, I can’t speak from experience, just had a couple of people PM me about Mt Sinai.
@bluebayou, my S has been seeing a Mt. Sinai affiliated internist in his office in the 80’s on Central Park West for 5 years. PM me if you’d like the name. I don’t know if he’s taking new patients, but my 30 year-old son really likes him. For any women who want a female doctor, my D was also referred to a Sinai-affiliated internist on the east side (closer to her office), but she’s only seen her once, thus far. She will go back, but has had no need. Happy to share via PM.
My best friend is a Sinai cardiologist, so he is our initial source of referrals.
Thanks everyone for the advice and recommendations! Looks like my son is set. He followed up on the specific providers we were PM’d, but found they weren’t in a convenient location for him or there was some other issue. But he was able to take up the recommendations about Mount Sinai. They seem to be everywhere in NYC.
He chose some Mount Sinai locations that were good for him (avoiding the ones that seemed to be specialized towards issues that weren’t his), and I called up their general number, think it was 1-800-MD-SINAI. I asked what doctors were available to be primary care providers in the locations he had targeted, and they found him three nearby that accepted his insurance. I researched them online, and found one of them that looked amazing. Over 1,000 reviews, very highly rated, has a clinical interest in some of the issues that plague my son.
But when he called the general number to schedule an appointment, now they said he wasn’t available
He then called the doctor’s office directly, and got himself scheduled for an appointment in a few weeks. Yes!
If he hadn’t been successful finding someone, sounds like there are some really good options regarding NYU-Lagone.
